1. Both show motion in a frame at a time.
2. They both show motion because they both show how the subject's position has changed over time and then put it all together as a whole.
3. The purpose of the first picture is to shpw the horses movement and how it changes. I know this because the frames are all separate instead of being put together like the second one. The purpose of the second one is to show the motion of the man and not so much about the individual movements but of the movement as a whole. I know this because that is why the pictures were put together as one.
