Motion

This is Angel Birth by Vitaly S. Alexiuss. In the picture the woman is getting milk thrown on her. The milk is thrown at a certain angle and technique to make it into the shape of a wing, thus the title. This photo shows motion because you can tell that the milk is moving through the air when the picture is being taken even though it appears to be still. The woman seems to also be gliding or walking forward in the photo. The other obvious motion is the milk bouncing off of her skin.
Had the photo been taken with fake wings or something that wasnt being thrown on her, it would not have the same effect. The milk bouncing/falling off her skin gives the photo an allusion of movement and something almost unearthly. I think this is the main thing the photographer was trying to convey. Another key factor in this photo that works with the motion is the color. The main color is white, but to make it even more prevalent, the background is mainly dark colors. This makes the white really pop. These elements working together make the picture what it is.
My goal in my own work is to accurately show motion in a correct and beautiful way.
